Red-dy for Red lipsticks?

Hello lovelies! I hope you are safe and healthy! And if you’re not, may God see you through whatever situation it is, remember He’s the same yesterday, today and forever!

Today, I want to share with you some of my ultimate favourite red lipsticks! Point to note, is that I haven’t used all of the lipsticks in this post, only a few of them.

Red is a classic, its always been here and will always be! It a gorgeous strong color that can accentuate your lips, skin color and even personality (which is why, you should have a red lippie somewhere)! I have curated a list of gorgeous red-dy lipsticks from several brands but I will share from only one brand today, and the others in the posts to follow. Alright, lets get into it!

Maybelline Red-dis!

For a longtime now, Maybelline has been a drug store company loved by many, including me! They have a wide range of makeup products that include red lipsticks. Their red lipsticks prices range within $7 to about $10 (usually on their website HERE ). I found red lipsticks that I thought were beautiful enough to be shared and so here we go.

The Maybelline Color Sensational Hot Chase Lipstick.

Its a bright red pigmented lipstick infused with a shea butter formula! Shea butter is smooth and creamy so expect a creamy hydrating finish from it. Probably because of its creamy finish, it reflects light so you might have a red “glassy” (shimmery) pout! It’s also comfortable to wear and is shaped like a bullet (favorite shape)! It may cost you about $7.49, depending on where you buy it from (in Uganda, it can come up to $18).

Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Reds.

There are four reds from the SuperStay collection that caught my eyes. The first is the SuperStay Matte Ink Crayon in the shade “Hustle in heels”.

The second one is the SuperStay Matte Ink Crayon in the shade “Own your Empire”. Own your empire is relatively darker in shade compared to Hustle in heels. To some, it may not exactly pass off as a red on different skin tones.

Colors are interesting, as you can see in the above photo, the SuperStay Matte Ink Own Your Empire crayon looks different on different skin tones. Here’s a comparison between Own your empire and Hustle in heels.

Ignore the crayon in middle and try to guess between the remaining two which one is Own your empire & which one is Hustle in heels (comment below the post).

A third shade is called Laugh Louder, an orange toned red lip crayon. It’s a bit deeper in red compared to Hustle in heels but not as dark as Own your empire . Both Hustle in heels and Laugh louder are orange based lip crayons.

Lip crayons have a longer “lip life” (they last longer on the lips) compared to lipsticks and these ink crayons don’t fall short on that. The Ink crayons last up to 8 hours plus its much easier to apply crayons compared to lipsticks because of their smudge and transfer resistance.

Each Crayon has an inbuilt sharpener to help get the perfect precision on your lips. Did I mention that they are matte and super saturated (hold as much water/moisture as can be absorbed)?

The fourth SuperStay Matte Ink is a liquid lippie called Dancer.

I stand to be corrected but Dancer to me is the liquid version of Hustle in heels maybe just more warmer. It’s like a classic red with a little shimmer to it. It’s also noticeably “warmer” and smoother especially during application!

It has a longer “lip life” of up to 12 hours straight!

Another gorgeous red-dy is the Maybelline Made for all in Red for Me creamy lipstick!

Maybelline created a universally flattering lipstick collection to compliment every skin tone and with it came a true red lippie called Red for Me.

Lastly, I like the Lunar New Year Electric Parade lipsticks!

This maple red lipstick was from the Disney Electric Parade Lunar New Year collection that was released in January. Unfortunately, it was a limited collection (sad) that was available only in Asia! How cool and gorgeous is it though!

And that’s it for today! Let me know, what you favorite Red Maybelline lippie is in the comments! I think Dancer is my favorite – lasts really long and I just love it!

Till next time, I think I should write about The M.A.C Ruby Woo red, what do you think?

Byeeee!

Truly,
